About Island Insight
I’ve always believed great customer service makes all the difference.
Born and raised here in Hawai‘i, I really understand how local people think — we care about connection, kindness, and that genuine Aloha spirit. It’s just different here than on the mainland, and that’s what makes good service so important.
I started working young — delivering newspapers, working as a cashier, then at Norwest Financial, Sears Carpet Cleaning, and La-Z-Boy. Every job taught me something about people and how much one positive experience can change everything.
While I was at La-Z-Boy, my biggest job became being a mom. And way before working from home was a thing, I was already doing it — building my online business while raising my family. Running my business meant shopping at different retail stores for inventory, and that gave me a front-row seat to see what great (and not-so-great) customer service looks like.
After years of seeing how service has changed, I wanted to do something about it. That’s why I started Island Insight 🌿 — to help local businesses bring back real, genuine service with Aloha.
